Action from the bow of the boat!
Laid Up Tarpon - Appearing to be at rest just under the surface, acting as if not interested because they are the king of the flats. Some say they won't eat, but if fed properly the fish that looks lazy will wake up, eat your fly and explode into action, creating welcome mayhem on the waters surface!
I am Capt. Scott Taylor and I am a EVERGLADES FLY FISHING GUIDE. I enjoy guiding fly anglers of all abilities. I have been guiding since 1990 and have had my Captains Lic. since 1997. Over all the years of guiding, the one thing that still gets me going is putting clients on fish! I love sneaking along a mangrove shoreline looking for a dark shadow in the water, it might be a Redfish, Snook, or a Tarpon. The cool thing about flats fishing is that the guide and angler work together as a team. The guide slides the boat into position for the cast, then you present the fly! Getting the shot and having a client hook up is what it is all about for me.

Capt Scott,
Just like our "late" trout sets, we are quite slow with written
communications too.
Susan and I thoroughly enjoyed the trip you took us on. There is NOTHING
like one of those bright little diamonds (Juvenile Tarpon) crashing thru the surface and
shaking his whole body at you. They are THE perfect fish.
Thanks for introducing us to, for us, the perfect application of our
sport.
Hope to see you on our next trip and try a little top-water too.

As far as fly fishing guides go, I am diverse. Not only and I a EVERGLADES FLY FISHING GUIDE, I also spend the summer months running High Country Fishing Charters in Pagosa Springs, CO. Here my guides and I offer float and wade trips on the famous San Juan River chasing trout. In the spring and fall I am down in the glades searching for Tarpon, Snook, and Redfish. In the winter I am the Training Coordinator / ski instructor at Wolf Creek Ski Area. This last season was my 30th year teaching and crushing powder.
The Everglades are my favorite spot in all of Florida to hunt for Laid Up Tarpon, Snook, and Redfish! We will fish out of a 18' Hells Bay Waterman with a 60 hp. Yamaha.
Rates are $700 for a full day.
